A boat for everyone!
PaddleALL is a Canoe Kayak Canada program aimed at promoting participation in the sport of sprint Canoe Kayak for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Recreational and sprint canoes and kayaks are used to introduce paddlers with intellectual and physical disabilities to the sport of CanoeKayak. The program includes a safety orientation, technical instruction, and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler will have an experienced paddling partner for 1:1 support. Although all abilities are welcome, paddlers must be comfortable on the water.
Our programs run once or twice per week (see below for more information) and have a new partnership with Special Olympics Ontario to offer a competitive program as well. Come join us Monday or Wednesday evenings!

"After the month of May, there used to be a void in organized sport activities for people with special needs. Not so this year! Thanks to Paddling for Special Needs at the Ottawa Canoe Club in Dunrobin, our son has been able to keep up with his physical fitness and meeting friends all summer long. I would like to personally thank Catherine Gosselin-Despres and all her volunteers for all their hard work. Hopefully we will have enough participants next year for Ottawa to be the first city in Canada to have a Special Olympic Team participating in a Dragon Boat Festival next year.” Gisele Doyle

“Hi my name is Marie and my son James took part in the OSO Paddle Program with The Ottawa River Canoe Club this past summer. James had a wonderful time and was always ready and waiting every Monday evening when I got home from work anxious to get to the paddle program. James and his peers got to learn kayaking and dragon boat paddling; by the end of the summer session it was amazing to see the improvement they had made in such a short period.
The staff coaches and volunteers were wonderful and their dedication commitment and support to each of the kids was heartwarming. The athletes could sense this commitment and worked hard to show their appreciation. I would and will recommend this program to other parents for their children, I can hardly wait to sign up for next year.
Thank-you you are a wonderful group of people.”
