Our Event 

This is an open, one day competition with about 140 paddlers, of every ability, competing in open, mixed and womens divisions as individuals or in crew boats. There will be a 7.5 km and 15 km race course events (no 30km event for 2019). The races will be followed by celebrations at the Nepean Sailing Club with great food and drink.

Registration includes:

  • race fees and insurance
  • technical t-shirt (shirt sizes are not guaranteed for late registrations after August 15th)
  • sponsor swag
  • post-race celebratory meal and awards ceremony
  • Note that spectator meals are available for $25 per person

 Amenities:

  • Boat drop-off and pick-up is within a fenced and secure boat yard
  • Parking is free and onsite
  • Coffee to get you going in the morning
  • Filling station for your water bottle
  • Nepean Sailing Club bar and restaurant will be open through the event
  • Washrooms and showers are available
  • Spectator viewing with lots of viewing green space for spectators from the lighthouse point at the entry to the marina.

    Boat rental and marketplace

    ORPC has a limited fleet of boats for rent during the event. We are also facilitating a boat marketplace: 

    • if you have an OC6 you would like to rent to others (you will earn $210), please email info@orcc.ca
    • if you want to rent a boat, please specify on the registration form
      • EACH crew member must pay the boat rental fee
      • CREW NAME must be specified on registration so we know your boat and crewmates
      • CAPTAIN can pay full rental fee by contacting us directly (info@orcc.ca) 

    What is the Waterway Series?

    The Waterway Series consists of four paddling competitions, with race distances of 2 km, 5 km, 15 km and 30 km, that are open to outrigger, surfski, standup paddleboard, kayak and canoe.  These events promotes area tourism, community and family fun and fitness through paddling sports.

    Ottawa River Canoe Club (ORCC) offers a program for coached OC6 sessions August 14 - September 14. Teams can also rent an OC6 for practices. More information is on the Outrigger page of this website.

    What is the ORCC?

    The Ottawa River Canoe Club is a not for profit organization with a mission of introducing and fostering recreational and competitive paddle sports and having fun doing so. We offer a variety of paddling programs including canoeing, kayaking and dragon boating for all age groups. Our programs are led by highly trained coaching staff. We have been in operation since 2002 serving West Ottawa and surrounding communities including Nepean, Kanata, and West Carleton.
