Ottawa River Canoe Club


The ORCC is a not-for-profit and volunteer run community canoe club that depends on members to contribute time and energy to support club activities, maintenance, and fundraising. Members who cannot commit their time must submit an Opt-out fee and the respective fundraising requirement before renewing their membership.

Ongoing Volunteer Tasks:

Camp lunches - volunteer to shop, prepare or serve at one of our weekly camp lunches - send us an email at

Water duty
 - supply clean drinking water for our members

Waste and recycling - help keep our club clean

Member Volunteer Requirement

  • 11 years old and under - 6 hours per season - $50 opt-out
  • those over 11 years old - 10 hours per season - $100 opt-out

Fundscrip  A monthly opportunity to raise fundraising dollars with the face-dollar purchase of gift cards that you can use for everything from groceries and gas to gifts and clothing. 

Member Fundraising Requirement

  • Individual Members - fundraising profit of $75
  • Family Membership - fundraising profit of $125

ORCC is reliant on fundraising and sponsorship revenue which allows for replacement of ageing equipment and boats. The success of any fundraising event is dependent on the number of people who participate. All individual and family members are required to raise a minimum amount of fundraising profit throughout the year.
