At its core, the Paddle For Life 55+ paddling program is about more than just paddling – it’s about empowering you to lead active and fulfilling lives.

Whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned paddler, this program caters to individuals of all abilities. Various adaptations are available to ensure everyone can participate and enjoy the experience:

  • Transfer system on the dock to assist people in safely entering and exiting the boat
  • Wheelchair accessible dock
  • Ergonomic seat cushions can be provided for additional comfort
  • 1-handed paddles and hand wraps to securely wrap hands to paddles for individuals with limited dexterity.
  • Lightweight paddles
  • All-terrain wheelchairs
  • Kind and supportive volunteers to act as a safety person, on and off the water.
  • Trained and capable staff to support transfers in and out of the boats
  • No heavy lifting is necessary! Staff and volunteers can prepare the equipment and have the boats on the dock ready for you ahead of time.

***2024 pilot program: A 55+ paddling program led by people 55+. During the piloted program, we are committed to understanding and reducing barriers to participation for participants. By doing so, we hope to create programming that is welcoming to diverse communities of potential new paddlers.

  • Program registration cancellations which are received two weeks prior to the start of the program will receive a full refund less the $15 non-refundable administration fee.
  • No refunds are available within two weeks of the start of the program or once the program has started; only a prorated credit will be issued.
