Youth Dragon Boat Team

Every year the ORCC enters a number of teams into the annual Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival (ODBF) which will be taking place over the weekend of June 21 & 22. This year the ORCC hopes to enter at least two youth crews. If you have a youth between the aged 13 - 17 interested in joining the ORCC youth crew please view the details below prior to registering.

Registration Fees

Program Cost:

  • $135.00

Included:

  • 4 Practices
  • Entry to ODBF Races
  • Access to the ODBF grounds, concerts, etc
  • Team shirt and snack for the festival weekend.

Not Included

  • Food for purchase on the festival grounds and any special snacks your athlete may want and lunches.

Practice Times

  • Wednesday May 28, June 4, 11, and 18 from 7:40 PM - 8:40 PM.

***PARENTS: Interested in being in adult DB crew? Reach out to Anita at dragonboat@orcc.ca and she will get you set up in the ORCC adult crew!

Prerequisite

  • Aged 13 - 17 (below 18) as of June 1
  • No competitive experience is required although all participants should have some paddling experience whether that be at an ORCC camp or outside the ORCC.
  • If an exception is being made for your child for being under the age of 13, you will need to pay the ORCC competitive fees to cover the for the weekend (insurance)

How to Register***

Please follow the following steps to register for the ORCC Youth DB crew:

  2. You will also be requested to fill out the ODBF waiver on their website at a later time. More information on this will be communicated to you by the ORCC.
